“You think I’ve been telling you that for the past few months because I like hearing myself talk?” Cass sighed, looking away.

"Well, I don't know about you...." Xander half-smiled. "But I like hearing you talk."

“Yeah, well,” Cass stopped mid-sentence, hands moving towards her stomach. She glanced up at Xander and bit at her lip. “Dinner’s gonna have to wait, babe."

Xander's eyes widened. "You mean.....?"

“I don’t know!” Cass snapped, more because she was scared than anything. “I’ve never done this before.”

"O-okay." Xander stuttered. "We'll go to the hospital now, just calm down baby."

Rose pulled up to the Jiovanni mansion and half-grinned. Her home now. She'd moved in right after she and Cain had gotten married, somewhat to Abel's dismay. She carefully climbed out of her car, a rather nice one she'd saved up and bought for herself a few years ago.
"I'm back, anyone home?" She called from the front door, listening to her own voice echo.

“Eh! You’re home!” Abel was hobbling on a cane from farther back in the house, holding a jar under one arm. “Open this damn thing, would you? Damn ungrateful son of mine is around here somewhere but I’d like for you to find him when you need something done.” He’d made it to the front door by now, grumbling the entire way. He held the glass jar out for Rose, looking stern and at the same time helpless.
“Well f**k!” Cain came spilling out of the side door leading to the garage, wiping his hands on what was probably once a bandana. Now it looked like a ripped tee-shirt.
Cain stopped down the hallway, headed for the nearest bathroom. He looked up to see Abel standing there in the hallway with a jar, and Rose holding her car keys. He glanced down at himself, he was completely covered in oil and grease, and he’d ripped a large hole in the left leg of his blue jeans at some point recently, there was blood scabbed over on his leg and it had gotten on his less-than-presentable pants.
The moment Cain didn’t say anything Abel started talking. “Son, I’ve been trying to get this damn thing open for half an hour, looked all over for you, yelled, screamed, everything!” Cain looked at the jar, before walking up to Abel, taking the jar and popping the lid lose, he handed the jar back without a word.
Cain shook his head as he turned his attention to Rose. “Hey, Rosie,” he kissed her on the cheek, keeping the rest of his body from touching her.

Rose smiled at her father-in-law. "Afternoon, Abel." She kissed Cain back. "Hey, babe. Cass and Xan say hi." She looked back at Abel and gave him a wink. "Let's just say you loosened it for him, hm?"

“Whatever,” Abel grumbled, heading back toward the kitchen, jar in hand.
“Oh, they say hi, I thought they hated me…a greeting seems a little weird.” He grinned, dashing into the bathroom by the staircase to pull off his shirt and replace it with one he’d stuffed in a cabinet on the wall. “So, you went over to see them, can I ask why?” He was talking over the running of the water in the sink.

Rose dropped her car keys into her maternityjeans pocket and shrugged. "I was bored, baked some cookies and brought them over to Cass. And I thought she'd like the company, what with Xander at work and all."

“Oh yeah,” He was coming back out of the bathroom now, his face and hands clean. It was amazing what a clean shirt could do for someone. “I take it they were good, Cassie and Xander, not the cookies… I’m sure they were good too though.”
Cain smiled, kissing Rose softly on the lips this time. “So… How’s my two favorite girls?” He laid a hand on Rose stomach, a big smile on his face.

Rose grinned and rested her hand on top of his. "Pretty good. One of us is a little restless and both of us want chocolate. Good thing I saved some cookies downstairs, hm?"

“Yeah, only then both of you are going to have gas.” Cain replied, shaking his head. They’d been through this numerous times in the past two or three months. “And then I have to sleep with you… and that’s not good for me.”

Rose snorted and punched him in the shoulder playfully. "Oh, you're mean. I don't complain when you snore."

“No,” Cain replied, laughing at Rose, “But you do poke me in the ribs to wake me up and then tell me I was having a bad dream.”
He smiled. “Besides, my snoring doesn’t make my dad leave the room like your gas does.”

"Yeah, I'm so torn up about it." Xander rolled his eyes, pulling up in front of the hospital and rushing around to open Cass' door.
"Oh, wow, I knew I could count on you two for an intellectual conversation." a laughing voice said from the doorway of the Jiovanni house. Eva stood there, leaning against the frame, arms grossed and grinning. "Konnichiwa, assembled crazies. Hi Abel."
