Cain snorted. He wondered if Rose even knew what rat poison did to people.
"Rosie, don't plan of killin' dad off with that," he said, shaking his head a little. "All it would do is give him a really bad headache, right after he came off one hell of a high. Rat poison is the base for LSD... just makes you trip."
Abel was looking at Rose before shaking his head. "That's it. I'm goin' to go take my chances with Barb, that way, if she wants to kill me, all she's gotta do it photocopy her ass again... It'll make me have a heartattack."

"Yeah well, all I can say about that, Rose, is lock Cain out. Then you'll see your toes forever." He was smiling, happy he'd gotten everyone wiht his talk of Barb.
"Hey, we need to ask Cain what he thinks of being locked out, I think," Cain snapped back.

The conversation was shrilly interupted by the rining of the telephone in the kitchen. Rose hurried to it. "Hello?" She answered in a cheerful tone. "Oh, hey, Rand. What's up?" Her smile faded somewhat as she listened to what he had to say. "Oh...S-Sure, I can be in today. See ya then..." She hung up and went back to the couch, sinking into the plush cushions with a slightly worried look.

"Oh yeah, everyone loves to see if Cain's gonna have a heartattack, this time," Cain said, watching as Rose went to anwser the phone.
"Well, I have Byer if you do have a heartattack," Abel replied with a grin.
Cain rolled his eyes. "Hey, what did Randy want? Something about coming in today?"

Rose looked up at him as if just realizing he was there. "Huh? Oh..." She quickly smiled, though it seemed slightly forced. "He just wants me to come to the hospital later for some tests. Make sure I don't have the same defect that kil-...Well, he just wants to run some tests to be on the safe side."

"Life's easier on me if I just volunteer myself for these types of things," he replied, wrapping an arm around her with a smile, " 'sides, Randy tends not to tell me things... for some reason. I swear, I only swung at him that once because he was joking and said there was no way that kid was mine..." He rolled his eyes and added, "stupid bastard, wow was I s'pose to know you can't tell that right after you find out you're pregnant."

Cassandra’s father had to slip a Benjamin to a nurse to find out that his granddaughter was fine, but his daughter was suffering from complications. He moved to pull another bill out of his wallet but the nurse held up her hands and said she didn’t know anything else. He sighed, glancing around the waiting room and wishing he’d left his wife at home. But she’d wanted to see Cassandra, wanted to be there when the child was born. He couldn’t have predicted that Cassandra would’ve gone into labor not ten minutes after they’d gotten off the plane.
Jack was sitting away from anyone else; head buried in his hands like he knew there was something wrong. His wife was calm, always calm, flipping through a magazine with what he knew was forced interest. Well, money can’t buy you everything. He sighed, taking a seat next to his wife.
A nurse approached Xander as another took the baby away, ignoring the blur of action going on around them. She lightly touched his arm, lowering her surgical mask.
“Sir, there’re some complications; you’re going to have to leave the room.”

Rose climbed out of Cain's still-prized Impala in front of the hospital, grimacing as her back cracked. "...Ow. Okay, soon as this kid is born, I'm going straight to back to normal yoga." She folded her arms and waited for Cain and his father to get out of the car. "C'mon, c'mon, Randy's expecting us."
