Rose scowled and started to yell at him but paused. A grin crossed her face. "My, my, my...what might this be?" She reached up and plucked a hair from her husband's scalp. "Would this happen to be a...gray hair?" She laughed teasingly. "And you know what they say. Once you pluck out one, three more grow in it's place."
Wika shook her head and patted Wesley on the head. "Well, you know what that means. You'll get 'em eventually."

Eva grinned and shook her head. "Well, you two have fun, Jack's probably expecting me back home now. Call me later, Wiks, I'll take you out for lunch. Later!" with that, she was rushing off, like she rushed just about everywhere else

“Ouch!” Cain rubbed his head, scowling at Rose. “Damn it, Rosie, you didn’t have to pull out my damn hair…” He smirked. She thought she had him on this one. “…and I don’t care. Grey makes older men look better. At least I’m not going bald.”
“You on the other hand.” He placed his hand back around Rose’s waist, pulling her closer as he smiled. “Will have grey hair and hate it.”
“Let’s buy him a tie,” Wesley said, after a quick glance at an older man walking by the store entrance. “Everyone else gets their pa a tie.”

Rose glared at him, pouting. "....I hate you right now, you know that." She palnted a kiss on his lips.
"Aw, but do we really wanna be like everyone else, Wes?"

“Yep,” Cain replied, kissing Rose on the cheek with a grin, “and I wouldn’t have it any other way.” He put his other hand up in the air before putting his finger on her nose and adding on. “But on the other hand, I love you, darlin’. Whether you hate me or not.”
“No,” Wesley smiled brightly. “Being like everyone else is boring….” He thought for a moment before asking with a look of amazement. “Is that what happened to Dad?”

Rose grinned. "Good. Otherwise I'd have to smother you in your sleep."
"Hmm...Possibly." Wika ruffled ehr brother's hair. "How about we get him something he wants? Lessee...What would Dad want..."

“I thought you were just marrying me so you could smother me in my sleep and get my money?” He grinned back at Rose, winking. “Sleeping with me and keeping me around this long was to just seal the deal, right? And kids, hell, they were just to make sure I didn’t get another girl.” He snuggled closer to her, laying his head on her shoulder. “See, I’ve figured you out, Mrs. Jiovanni. It’s a good thing I like you, or I’d just get another woman to take your spot on the bed. Sad thing is, she might not make me breakfast and wash my clothes.” He looked up at her with a smile. “Besides, you smell good, I’m not willing to chance getting someone that doesn’t always smell good.”
Wesley wiggled out from under his sister’s grasp. “Ugh, Wika, don’t ruffle my hair…. Mommy does that…” He shook his head, shaking his hair back to the messy state in which it had been two moments before. “Oh, cool, yeah something he wants would be good. See, I think sisters must always be really smart.” Wesley looked like he was thinking a moment before adding, grinning. “How ‘bout somethin’ with a guitar on it? Huh, Wika, Dad really likes his guitar.”
“Maybe he’d forget you made your hair purple with jelly if you got him something really neato. See, if I get Mommy something pretty and girly for Christmas, she’ll forget I breaked her favorite flower holder thing last week.” He smiled again, “Well, at least Daddy always buys Mommy something pretty and girly when she gets mad at him. It works, last time he only had to sleep in the guest room beside mine for two nights.”

Eva got back to the small place she and Jack lived. Closing the door quietly behind her, she scurried off to see if she could surprise him.

Jack was sitting on the couch, half reading a week old newspaper half watching a football game, with Ian curled up next to him.

Wika raised and eyebrow and snorted. "Mom is still making him sleep in the guest room? Wow, she knows how to hold a grudge. Wonder if she's still mad at him for running over her dog when I was nine...You broke mom's vase?"
Rose laughed and hugged Cain's neck. "I credit my good smell to that expensive shampoo you buy me."

“I dun think she’s still mad over the dog,” Wesley replied, “but she gets mad at him a lot. She says it’s ‘cause he does things that make her really really mad. He says it’s ‘cause she’s PMSing… whatever that means.”
“HEY! I got it, Wika! Okay, get him a strap!” Wesley looked like he’d just thought of the most perfect gift on the planet. “You know, a really neat-o one for his guitar. He’ll be so happy; he won’t say anything to mommy about your hair!” He smiled sweetly up at his big sister. “And I swear, Wika, I won’t tell mommy you’ve been eating grape jelly at college.”
“Yeah, well if it’s the shampoo how come Wika’s damn cat didn’t smell any better after I washed him it?” Cain grinned, before he realized he’d told on himself. That cat had been sneezing for a month. “I think it is just you, babe.”
