So, this was definitely going to be different. Not only, was Konstance starting out at a new school.. but she was starting out with the most unlikely of companions, her cousin Oktavian. Though Konstance had never really had any problems with school, she suddenly found the subject very hard to concentrate on. Especially, with Oktavian there. It was not in his personality to do something like this, and he could probably tell she was confused because the air around her was tainted with distrust. Not that she didn't trust her cousin, she just wanted to know what he was up to. "Here we are." She said quietly, as she pulled into the school parking lot. It was sort of early to be getting to school, but she had to go to the office with Oktavian to register themselves fully and get class schedules. She ignored his response, if he gave one, because she wasn't really listening. However, knowing Oktavian, he probably didn't even give a response.
Oktavain watched the scenery go by, again feeling out of place. This was not something he was accustomed to, considering he was not even close to his human instincts. He was never really human, and much of the time he had spent with them were fading memories. He was putting himself on the line, being here. What if he couldn't act right? What if they suspected something? Did he really care? The answer was definitely no. He was doing his for his new family's benefit. Not his own. He couldn't give a good rats ass about his education. He had the common sense and smarts it took to survive as a Lycan, and he used them to his advantage. He could feel that Konstance was not at ease about this, either, and though he wanted to explain to her, he knew she would just blow it off. Sometimes, she was more hard headed than he was, whether she realized it or not. He got out of the car once it stopped, and waited for her to lead the way.
Konstance, though only being at the school twice before, knew her way to one place. The main office. She led the way inside, and Oktavian followed like an obedient dog.. oooh, he wouldn't like that comment very much if he could hear her thoughts. She was sure glad he couldn't. He hated being compared to dogs. Ha. She stopped inside the main office, introducing herself to the secretary there. They were greeted, given schedules, and sent on their way as if they were bothersome rats. That really annoyed Konstance, but considering she was already in a fairly irritated mood, it was probably the womans response to her more than the woman not liking them. Or, she could've just been busy. Whatever. It wasn't her problem to dwell on, so, with twenty minutes left until school began, she lingered by the locker she was given, and read over her schedule.
Oktavian was having more difficulties than Konstance. It frustrated him that he was not better than her at something, sometimes he was a bit of a perfectionist. She was so calm and relaxed, even with the obvious human scent on the air, and the people walking around them. He found himself curious as to why she just lingered by the metal doors, he remembered as lockers, but he didn't ask. She kept scanning a paper, and it annoyed him that she wasn't saying anything. She must've felt some sort of paranoia creeping in on her, too, musn't she? Or was he the only one that felt so out of place it was maddening? was he the only one who was different? Truly different, even from his own kind? But then he remembered the alternative to being different, and he shivered. His fathers pack. He would try his best here. He would never want to return to the barbaric race of, they should be called monsters, lycans. Finally, he decided to strike a conversation with his favorite cousin. "What are you doing?" His voice was skeptical, annoyed. Damn, he was trying to hide the annoyance so she'd actually answer him. To his suprise, she actually looked up and responded. "Looking over my schedule. If I have it memorized, and the map memorized, the less I have to associate with people." She explained. "Oh." was all he had to say. He felt the burn on the back of his neck, like he was being watched. He didn't like it. "Relax your stance. You're standing to still. Humans will notice that." Konstance inturrupted his worry. For the first time, Oktavian noticed the air around her seemed nervous too. He now realized she was just as nervous as he was, and that they both were stuck here whether they liked it not. "For Charles and Venetta." He said softly. "For Charles and Venetta." Konstance agreed, and they headed for their first class together, Chemistry. Oktavian felt slightly better now, because he knew that Konstance and him were in this together. No matter how cool she played it, it remained true that in this place, they were both completely, and distastefully, uncomfortable.

((ooc: Lovely first post, by the way.))
Frank growled at a passing freshman, sending him scuffling back into the herd. He was Second, for f**k’s sake, no some fresh turn to be sent on scouting missions for every new puppy on the block. Still, she’d told him to go, and here he was- like a good little puppy- following these two new ‘Wolves she seemed so interested in.
Since he wasn’t technically allowed to do anything fun, he had to content himself with doing his job. They both seemed ill at ease among the apes, but the male stuck out like a sore thumb. If he wasn’t used to being around humans, all the better. Maybe he could teach Xander a thing or two. Hell, over half the pack could use a lesson in how to be less ape. A bit belatedly, Frank realized that he’d been staring too long and the male had started to notice.

Ooc.. Thank you, very much. bic... Oktavian reached his hand back, scratching the back of his neck nervously. He did feel very uncomfortable, still. The eerie feeling that someone was watching him just wouldn't back off. He looked at Konstance with pleading eyes, he just wanted to leave. He knew he wouldn't, because despite everything he had done, and would do again if the chance called, he did have some honor. That, and he respected the hell out of Charles and Venetta. He couldn't disappoint them by dropping out again. They had given him a fake identity and everything, since he was considered dead where he came from. Of course, his name wasn't Oktavian Shadow here, it was Oktavian Blythe, but he resumed the point that it wasn't his real last name to his new adopted family. Finally, he became irritated with the hairs on the back of his neck, and swung around, ready to attack. He ended up baring his teeth at a freshman girl, who squeaked and ran off in the other direction. "Damn.. maybe I'm just paranoid." He sighed. "You definitely are." Konstance mumbled, but she could feel it too. Someone was watching them, however, she was much better at controlling her instincts than Oktavian was, even if he was older. She had been around humans her entire life, been raised as one most of her life as well.. until her first change. It virtually happened around the same time as puberty for her, so it was easy to get away with saying the changes in her body were making her the way she was back then. However, now she had to stick to the way she was. No excuses. "Over there." She muttered under her breath, glancing at a man that appeared a bit.. different. "I heard there were others here, like us. I wasn't sure I believed them, though. My parents, I mean." She grabbed Oktavian's elbow, for he was about to move forward to ask the man what his problem was. "No." She hissed. "Do NOT do anything to set ANYTHING off. Number one rule, NEVER let humans know our identities." She demanded. Though he didn't like it, he knew Konstance was right, and he struggled against her hand for a minute anyways, not really trying at this point. He was stronger, and more skilled.. but she was more cool-headed, and understood better.

Frank stifled a chuckle, glad at least that his charges were proving to have some entertainment value. Amusement aside, though, it wasn’t his place to make first contact and they’d begun to notice him. He’d have to keep an eye on the male, though. Seemed like he had a temper and the female couldn’t always be around to tug on his elbow. Suddenly a familiar scent hit him: Jack in a foul mood.
Jack, too busy fuming over his latest scuffle with Cain to watch where he was walking, crashed right into Oktavian.
“Shit, man,” He mumbled, collecting his dropped notebook and taking in the two strangers. “Didn’t see you.”

Oktavian didn't react very well to that. He lunged backwards, his body automatically going into the defensive. He crouched low, baring his teeth like a wolf waiting to strike. He was almost in a thug squat, his body tensing and preparing for a fight. He glared at Jack, even after he.. somewhat apologized. He could tell the other male was not human, it put him on edge. "Oktavian." Konstance hissed. She bent down to scoop up the notebook Jack dropped and handed it back to him without even giving him a second glance. "Breathe." She demanded to her cousin, who didn't seem too normal to on-looking humans at the moment. In fact, he looked very, very.. defensive. Completely inhuman. Konstance didn't like him like this. She walked towards him slowly, humming a soft tune. As she did, his body untensed, and he slowly stood up to a more normal position. "It was an accident." She mumbled.
This, seemed to relax Oktavian, because if Konstance could trust that it wasn't an attack, then so could he. She was his favorite person in the world, she was his life-line in a lot of ways. He looked at Jack, "My apologies." He said quietly. Konstance nodded in approval, going on with her own business. She decided to ignore the teenager that had accidently run into. It was not her place to make friends with other lycans here. It was her place to finish her education, and get the hell out of here. Besides, she had no rank.

Jack growled, almost glad for a fight after an unfinished argument with Cain, but calmed quickly with his notebook shoved in his hands and the girl soothing the other Lycan. He’d heard of feral Lycans- those who lived outside of human society and so tended to blend in very poorly-, but he’d never met one, not even with the crowds Cassandra tended to run with. Still, knowing they existed and meeting one were two very different things and Jack didn’t like the fact that one was running around his school.
“I’m Jack.” He offered to the girl who seemed to want nothing to do with him. It was better than talking to the guy, though. Jack didn’t get along with other guys, as a rule.
“It was my fault.” He conceded to the other lycan, mostly to get into the girl’s good graces. “You two’re new, yeah? Haven’t seen you around.”

Konstance looked up at the boy, she was short, so she literally did have to look up. "Yes." She said nodding her head, then glancing back at Oktavian. "He'll be fine. He's sort of rude, he's not used to places like this." She shrugged, "He will learn, though." She added, hoping this boy wasn't high enough up on the food chain to get her into trouble. She didn't want any trouble, she knew Oktavain was feral, but he was quick to learn. He would be alright, she was certain. His instincts were just on overload right now. She looked back at the boy now, her eyes had remained on her cousin to make sure he was calm. She offered a hand to him, a friendly gesture, she hoped. "Konstance Blythe.. My Cousin. Oktavain Shadow." She introduced them.
Oktavain glowered, but he was calming down quickly. He even smiled at the other male. "Sorry about that. Instinct overload." He explained, hoping the other boy took no offence to it. Konstance was keeping him under control, he wasn't sure how he'd react in the classes he didn't have with her. He'd do his best, not to let paranoia creep in.. he supposed, that was the best he could do. He would give it his best shot, he wanted to make this work.

“You should have taken him to the mall,” Jack shook her hand lightly, glancing at Oktavian. “Let him get used to the crowds and scents.” The girl seemed slightly worried about something so he gave a reassuring but closed mouthed smile, without teeth for Octavian’s benefit. They seemed nice enough. Or, at least, they didn’t seem like a threat. Nothing like the ‘Truth pack. Jack was more than a little curious about what a feral lycan was doing in a high school, but had more tact than to ask. Well, at least not yet. “Nice to meet you both.”
And if they were staying in town, Jack would know plenty about them soon enough. Even among the slightly larger human population, secrets didn’t stay secrets for very long. The downside was, however, that Cassie’s pack had caught wind of the new comers long before. Jack’s face fell a little as he remembered his time in Texas with the alpha and conceded the sudden scent of cigarettes and peroxide to an overactive imagination.
“No hard feelings.” Jack offered his hand to Oktavian.
Frank, back from a smoke break and a check-in with Cassandra, found his charges much in the same place as he had left them. Except for… “Jack.” He growled a little, the betrayal of his alpha a stronger memory than the friendship they had shared.

Oktavian shuttered, his body telling him to react to the other male werewolf. He didn't, though. When the hand was offered, he extended his own and shook it. "Yeah, sorry about earlier." He mumbled. He really did feel horrible for losing it the first day he was here. It was going to be much more dificult than he had thought it would. With a disapproving sigh, he looked down at Konstance, who had lost interest in the boys near her. Instead, she was staring, with one hand tilted to the side, in Frank's direction. She bared her teeth, but turned to face the other two again when she felt their eyes on hers. "I don't appreciate the invasion of my privacy. Did we do something wrong?" She complained, obviously unhappy that she was being watched, though she fully believed it was more of Oktavian being watched than herself. He was feral.
Oktavain looked at the man she had been staring at, then he looked back to her short height. He tugged one of her long black curls, then snickered at her. Her silver eyes flashed to him, but he felt no need to even react dangerously when it came to his baby cousin. She was more like a sister to him, but not through blood. Too bad, he'd love to have a sister like Konstance. She was like the Ying to his Yang. She cooled him off. She kept him under control. Being in a new place such as this, made him unpredictable and dangerous, but he would never be as unpredictable as Konstance Bella Blythe. Konstance, was absolutely frighteningly unpredictable. She did the exact opposite that anyone ever expected, and not on purpose. It was genuinally how her mind worked. "I don't think we did something wrong, neccessarily, as much as, I'm feral. They are probably just being cautious. Besides, it's instincts to protect your pack. This is a natural reaction." He told her. Konstance had never lived in a pack, she wouldn't be able to understand.

Jack blinked a little at Konstance’s outburst but his confusion melted away into rage as he followed their glance towards Frank. He snarled, crouching down into the same position Oktavian had taken against him. Of all places, Jack assumed he’d be safe from his old pack at school. “Frank.” Frank smirked, waving at the trio as the morning bell rang and he disappeared into the flow of students. Jack cursed, loud enough to temporarily stop the flow of human traffic around them.

Konstance glowered, looking at Jack now. "You know him?" She asked queitly, but she was inturrupted by Oktavain's response to Jack's sudden movements. Oktavain dropped to the ground in the same crouch, his lips pulling back into a snarl. His eyes flashed dangerous crimson, and his instincts took overload. He lunged at Jack, sending them rolling. The crowd of students circled around them yelling, "Fight, fight, fight!" Konstance wasn't having it. She swore and yelled until it frightened most the students away, then she went to Oktavain ripping him away from Jack. She wasn't even sure who had been winning the fight. "Control yourself, Oktavain!" This was a dangerous move, because Oktavain was feral, and likely to rip her throat out for interfering, but he didn't. He calmed down slowly, looking at her with a blink. "Whoa.." He growled at Jack again. "He wasn't even being hostile towards you, there was another one." Konstance snapped, and Oktavain blinked. "Oh.." He mumbled, he glanced at Jack. "I'm really, really sorry man. I didn't mean to.." He really hand't. His instincts had gone over board. Ooc.. I didn't power play, for the record. I skipped all details belonging to blows and such, and never clarified who was winning. I am not sure how strong Jack is, so I have to be careful.

“You’d better keep him on a tighter leash.” Jack snarled, hauling himself up and wiping at his mouth as he scanned the crowd for that all too familiar shock of bleached hair. Oh, Frank was probably having stomach aches from laughing so hard right about now; was probably already on the phone with Cassandra, telling her all about it. The prick…just wait till school let out…
He shook his head violently, bringing himself to the present before his mind wandered off again. He had bigger problems than Frank and Cass having a chuckle at his expense. With all the fiery tempers running around the school, this wouldn’t be the only fight Oktavian got himself involved in.
“You shouldn’t have brought him; he’s obviously not ready.” He snapped, nerves still raw. “This isn’t exactly the best place to hone his people skills.”
Jack checked his watch and sighed. Another tardy. Eva would kill him. He shook his head, adding in a calmer tone. “Sorry, man, it's just there are a lot of humans here and some of them are my friends. I don’t want them getting hurt.” In truth, he was thinking of one specific human with whom he was more than friends but maybe a warning would make Oktavian more cautious.

It was Konstance's turn to growl. "I'm not his god damn keeper." She snapped. "I didn't tell him to come. My parents wanted this of him." She growled, frustrated, and her teeth bared lightly. She glared at Jack, pissed off that he thought SHE had brought him. "You don't know what it was like for him, anyways, or what he has had to do. I doubt you could even live through what he has." She grabbed Oktavain by the elbow, yanking at it, but when he didn't budge, she just glowered and stalked off to class, still fuming.
"She's usually a lot better at keeping her cool.. Sorry. I'll control myself better. I am just new." It was very hard for Oktavain to suck up his pride like that, but he did, and he managed. He stepped passed Jack, "See you around." He tilted his head slightly then headed into the same direction Konstance had come from, since they had their first three or four classes together. That was good. It'd be easier for him to remain calm with her around. He was definitely going to have to work at this whole "human" thing. It wasn't going very well for him.

Ooc.. Skipping! bic.. Konstance glowered as they left school, still fuming that the insalent (sp having an off day xD) Lycan had assumed it was her idea to bring Oktavain to school. Of course not! She was just as mistified as anyone else over him having come to school. He was a FERAL lycan. This made him DANGEROUS, and it wasn't the best place for him to be. She knew that. She didn't ask him to come to school with her, she was told to go get him the damn form! "Kon.. come on, calm down." Oktavain whined walking behind her. "He didn't mean anything by it, I had just taken a snap at him, remember? I've been good all day. Nothing to worry about." He said, and other than his little spill, he had been doing good. He hadn't stepped out of the line.. yet. "Yeah yeah." Konstance snarled at him.

Frank sat on a bike rack as the school emptied, chatting up a human girl who, if she cut her hair a little shorter and learned to scowl, might pass for Cassandra. The day had been exceptionally boring after the little battle between Jack and his charge but there was a small mountain of cigarette butts littered around his feet to attest that he had stuck around, despite his extreme boredom. And now, to put a cherry on top of his frustration Sundae, he was having a slight problem finding the puppies in the crowd. He stood up suddenly on top of the bike rack, right in the middle of the girl’s monologue, to scan the crowd and caught sight of the puppies just as they were rounding a corner.
“f**k.” He ignored the girl’s indignant ‘excuse me?!’ and raced after the pair, only slowing down as he neared the corner. Cass would have his balls in a vice if he lost track of them now. He found them again and relaxed, keeping an easy twenty paces between them, but never took his eyes off them.

Konstance glowered. She already could feel she was being watched again. "Oktavain, get in the car." She said. He complied, and she turned on her heels. "I'll be right back." She walked back towards the building disappearing behind a monsterous crowd of humans, and then re-appeared exactly behind Frank, tapping him on the shoulder. "Excuse me, is there a REASON you've been spying on us all day?" She asked. "It's really starting to get on my nerves. So much for the happy mood." She almost snapped at him. Konstance was normally a happy person, but if something or someone brought her mood down, then damn it she was staying in a bad mood until whatever bothered her was completely gone.
Oktavain got out of the car when he saw what Konstance was doing, he didn't want her to get hurt. He frowned, standing beside the door for a second, debating on if she could handle this or not. He decided he really wasn't sure what she was capable of handling, considering he didn't know a thing about her combat skills.. he'd guess they weren't as good as some lycans were, though. He shut the car door completely, and started a slow rhythmetic walk towards Frank and Konstance, but tried to keep his mood under control. He didn't want to go psycho feral lycan on the stalker.. oh wait, he was stalking them.. so maybe he did want to tear a chunk out of him.

“Well, I’m not doing it for my health.” Frank grinned easily, turning slowly towards her. He wasn’t the least concerned, not about a female and not even when the male started his approach. This was his pack’s territory. Even if the two did manage to get an upper hand, the fight wouldn’t last long- not when they were surrounded by people.
“Relax,” He sighed, glancing towards the male. “I’m not here for a fight.” In fact, fighting was the last thing he wanted, especially since Cass had threatened his stash privileges.

Konstance sighed, "We're not looking for a fight either, but I sure as hell want to know why I'm being monitered." She complained, as Oktavain came to a stop beside her. Every hair on his body was standing up, she could even feel the tension rolling off his skin. It was amazing how hostile he could be. Her eyes turned back to Frank, letting Oktavain have the hostility for a moment. "Is it too much to ask to move to a new town without being stalked by someone from the pack that lives there? We're not posing a threat. He only reacts this way with weres around, if you'd go away and leave us alone we'd be fine." She grumbled.
Oktavain tilted his head to the side, Konstance had never been in a pack, and had definitely never been in a feral pack. "They do this anywhere you go to check out their competition. It's kind of like sizing people up, just so you know what your up against if it turns to a fight.. or just to know who the hell is in your territory." He explained. "Why does it matter?" Konstance groaned. "Wolf instinct." Oktavain shrugged. "Then how come I don't sense it?" She glowered. "Because of how you react to your more beastile side. You don't like what we are, you push it away, and try to be as human as possible. Therefore, your emotions are more human than any other part of you. You keep the beast at bay, but I don't know exactly how you do it. It's fascinating. They, have tame beasts. Or have learned to tame themselves over time, I'm freshly from the hostile sides of the packs, so I'm more dangerous. Understand now why they might consider us, or rather me, a threat?" He asked her. Konstance sighed, but nodded her head. "Yeah, okay smartass. Shut up." She complained.

“Wouldn’t mention the ‘d’ or ‘t’ words in Cass’ presence, if I were you.” Frank chuckled, the last guy who’d called Cass domestic had been lucky to get away with a few scratches and a black eye. He should have left it at that, really. Cass wouldn’t like him talking so freely to outsiders. But the opportunity to correct a puppy was just too good to pass up.
“You’re not a threat, puppy.” His grin was all teeth. “Cass just likes to meet all the new kids, see which side of the fence you’re on.”

Konstance glowered. "I don't like him." She complained about Frank. Oktavain just snickered, "I don't care who this Cass is, if she really wants a fight, she can come to me. I'd love some action." He grinned at that, because it was true. He'd take on anyone willing to fight a trained assasin and feral lycan. He didn't have an arrogance issue, he didn't think he was the best or anything, but he knew he had skills, and he knew he was good at fighting. If this 'Cass' figure beat him, so be it. He'd still enjoy the fight.
