Okay, up until the first War, Cold Creek had an Alpha over their Clan, just like every other group of semi-organized ‘Wolves in the country. Cain’s great-great-great-great Grandfather had been the first Alpha; he’d been the one to ‘set up Shoppe’ as it were. He’d built the Town Hall along with the rest of what would soon be called Cold Creek.
For nearly fifty-nine years Cold Creek was a peaceful place, they even did some trading with non-‘wolf populations, but by 1858 The Founder was reaching his old age. He’d been over thirty when he’d founded the town; he was ready to hand over the leadership to someone else. But always someone ‘in the Family’.
The next Alpha had been a cousin, one that no one really cared to talk about, because he’d been the one that had gotten attention drawn on them during the Civil War. But even if all his faults, he’d pulled them threw the War; mostly intact.
By this time, more types of ‘wolves had started to move in, namely the Werewolf. They, by law, were required to follow the Alpha’s rules, just like every one else. But they had problems with it. It was the late nineteenth century now; the Alpha name was passed on again. This time to Bardulf, Cain’s great-great grandfather.
He started working on an idea that he hoped would stop the war he knew wasn’t fair behind. He wrote journals full of on organization; ways to keep power-hungry people from the top. His last journal was a detailed blue-print on how the Cold Creek Council should be run. He was killed in a fight that broke out between him and a werewolf over an apple.
Bardulf’s journals were kept by his wife for the next few years, as her son [Cain’s grand father] took the role of Alpha. She passed them on when he had a son, and told him that if it was possible, make it happen. What ever it took. There wasn’t going to peace long, the Jiovanni’s were dwindling again, power was about to jump to the other side. And along with it, Cold Creek.
It took Abel’s father three years before they had their first official Council meeting. Tristan sat as the Council’s chief, the rest of the Council were made up of four Lycans and three Werewolves. Women [who still don’t get many rights] were not allowed to sit on Council. They did however; hold whatever power their husbands held. That didn’t change from the Alpha system. Abel took the seat after his father passed away, and he expects the same of Cain.
