Cold Creek was founded in 1799 by the Jiovanni family, therefore gaining a large amount of lycan customs. Over the following seventy years the numbers of actual Jiovanni descendents dwindled, plunging the town into an uproar, as the council moved to have all lycan kind removed from the land. The disagreement occurred around the same time as the American Civil War, and so when the feud grew no one gave it much attention. The fight took many turns during the next three years, resulting in a horrific fire that burned up almost the entire old part of town, sparing but one building, the Town Hall, where the first Jiovanni had sat as Clan Leader years before. The fire did have one positive affect, the town realized things had gone smoothly before the feud. An agreement was made; the Jiovannis would no longer live in the open as to what they were, as long as that bargain was kept. Peace would be kept, too.

However, peace was short lived. Around the turn of the twentieth century the werewolf population began to exceed the lycan population.
Prejudices were born. A silent war was ensued. The town was segregated into three groups, the werewolves and the lycans, amid the mortals who had no clue what was transpiring.
Soon the war was taken to another level. Lycans and werewolves began to attack each other. There were several bloody and violent deaths with in the town.
Finally, one fight Left a mortal severely injured. The town was outraged and demanded action be taken. Unrest followed.
The two parties could not reach an understanding. The town leaders reminded the lycan leaders that years ago a treaty was signed by both wolf and human. The Lycans agreed to keep their nature secret so as not to harm mortals. The lycans were in violation of the treaty and were facing exile.
In an attempt to keep their roots grounded in their beloved town, the lycans found a suitable town nearby for the werewolf population could grow safely. The werewolves complied to the plan on the condition that in years later the werewolves would be allowed to return to the town if they wished.
The second World War had already ended by the time the two parties were ready to reunite. By then the long feud was well forgotten and the they were able to truly live together in peace.
