“Hey, pint size, relax.” Frank held out his hands, ignoring Carrie. “You remember me, your old pal Frank?”
Cass stepped all the way behind Carrie so she couldn’t see Frank, gripping her hand.

Carrie squeezed her hand gently, smiling down at her. "Wanna know a trick to getting Frank off your back? Just ignore him and eventually he'll crawl back to his den to hibernate for a few months."

Frank growled, taking the offensive. “Cass doesn’t even like you, Carrie. I don’t know what you did, but she wouldn’t be hanging all over you if you hadn’t!”

Carrie stared at him in disbelief. "What...what I did?! What the hell've you been smoking, or drinking, or both?!"

“Yeah, well…get away from her.” Frank growled as he moved towards Cass, ignoring Xander.
Cass marched over to where Frank was standing, kicking his shin. “You’re a meany. I don’t like you!”
“Shit, Cass!” Frank yelled, rubbing at his leg. “Why’d you do that?”
“’Cause you’re mean to Carrie… and you’re a big stupid head,” Cass huffed, grabbing the box of lucky charms that she had to carry with both arms and sat on the couch as far away from Xander as she could.

Xander grinned slightly and looked like he was about to say something, but decided he didn't need a hurt leg and kept his mouth shut

Cass glanced at him briefly before returning her attention to the cereal box. She wrestled it open and grabbed a fistful of the cereal, only half of which successfully made it to her mouth. She picked up one of the spilled marshmallows from the couch cushion and held it out for Xander.
“Want one? They’re magically dishes.”

Carrie grinned, brushing past Frank into the living room. "I wonder if it's possible to keep her like this..." She plopped on the couch next to Cass, ruffling her hair affectionately.

"I know you don't mean that, carrie..." Xander said carefully, but smiled as he took the marshmallow from Cass. "Thanks, Kid."

“You’re welcome, poophead.” Cass swung her legs, reaching in the box for another handful.

Carrie chuckled again, snatching the remote off the coffee table and clicking their cheap television to life. "But she's adorable like this. And she doesn't hate me."

"It's still not right." xander grumbled. "We need to find a way to fix it."

“My name’s Cass. So you can stop calling me kid.” Cass crawled onto Xander’s lap, spilling more cereal on the way. “What’s your name?”
