Character's Name; Lexi Barlow

Race; Human

Age; 20

History;
Her family had old money and Lex had a fairly normal, if a little privileged, childhood. She was athletic, social, and intelligent. Her parents had high hopes for her growing up, picturing their little girl as a Lawyer or a Doctor or, in their secretest of hopes, maybe even the first female president! Lex herself had always wanted to be a detective, like her father. Everything changed at the age of 18. Loki disappeared. As twins they had been very close, if exact opposites in almost every way but looks. Where she was book smart and athletic and got what she wanted when she wanted it by working hard, Loki was street smart and wiry and sneaky like a fox. She was popular in school and he hung out with the outcasts, the rebels. Regardless of their opposite social standings, the two were very important to each other and were, at least when alone, each other’s best friend. Not everyone knew how close they were. Loki was obsessed with Lycans. It started when the twins were 13. They were in the woods behind their house. Their father had installed a bell on their porch to ring when it was time to return home and had built a small fence around their large property which they were to stay in.
"Loki, I'm not kidding!! Dad rang the bell like ten minutes ago, he's gona kick our asses!" even knowing her parents were nowhere around, Lex had a quick feeling of fear at using a cuss word followed by the thrill of being 'bad'. Observiant blue eyes scanned the trees, searching for the brown sweater Loki was wearing. He was smart, always wore woodsy colored clothes when they played their secret games of hide and go seek. Lex would be mortified if her friends found out that she played such a childish game with her, in their words, "Loser brother".
"I'm hungry and I don't want to play anymore! Fine! You've won! Sheesh!" It always surprised her how she could excell so much at sports and her brother was so scrawny and weak, yet he always seemed to win out here in the woods. She crashed through the trees like a big brown bear, where he slunk behind trees and hid in brushes. She decided she'd give it one more go and do a quick circuit of the property before she went home without her brother.. let him get grounded! She started out at a steady jog, weaving around trees and roots.. trees and roots she'd weaved around all of her life. At the furthest part of the property, she finally saw her brother, kneeling by the edge of the fence, staring beyond. She ran to his side, "Didn't you hear me yelling or the bell, dummy?"
No answer, he just stared at the deep woods beyond their fence. Lex turned and looked beyond, not seeing anything. Her eyes quickly darted to the ground in front of the fence, on the outside. A man had been ripped to shreds. Lex turned and vomited behind her brother, using his shoulder as a balance. As soon as her hand touched his shoulder, she could tell he was as stiff as the wood fence in front of them. Not that she blamed him. God, why was he staring at this body? Some animal had obviously gotten a hiker.. or something. But why stare at it? Once her stomach was empty, she wiped her mouth off and stood. Then steeled herself and turned around to look at the body again. She was proud of herself that she could look at it and not puke again... not that there was anything left in there to come up.
"Loki... what the hell are you doing?" again that fear and thrill, " We need to get back and tell Dad this is here so he can take care of it and.." she trailed off when she looked at his face again. "Are you ok..?"
He looked up at her and she was taken aback by what she saw. He was excited, not disgusted. She took a step back, confused..
"Lex.. you should have seen it. I heard something and I thought it was you messing with me so I came to check it out. I saw to .. people fighting over there." he pointed to the edge of the wood, about ten feet from the fence. "I hid behind the tree and watched as the huge guy overpowered this guy... I thought I was just watching a fight between some guys or something," his voice was getting semi-frantic and quick, "but then I saw the little guy had a gun that the big guy knocked out of his hand. Then all hell broke loose! The big guy just kind of ripped into this guy! I've never seen anything like it in my life! It wasn't human! Lexi, it was a monster!"
She looked at her brother, at first thinking he was just messing with her. Then she saw his face again and knew. As his twin, they'd always had an unspoken connection. Now she was starting to feel his excitement, though hers was more like fear. Which only increased as he continued..
"I stayed so quiet.. you know how quiet I can be! I thought I was well hidden. Then... he looked right at me, growled like a dog and ran off. I've never been so scared in my life!"
Loki had never, in their 13 years, admitted to Lex that he was scared. He may have been a scrawny kid, but Lex had always felt he was steely hard underneath and stronger than she'd ever be.
"Well," she said, "I still think we need to get back and tell dad about this. Tell him everything you saw-"
"No!" she was cut off by her brothers frantic plea, "We can't tell him what I saw! Mom and dad already think I'm not as good as you, now they will think I'm crazy! Plus, I don't want dad getting involved in anything like that. We'll just tell him we found the body.."
She nodded and pulled his sleeve, pulling him into a standing position. "OK.. sounds good. Let's go!" With that she turned around and ran towards home. She was nervous for a minute when she didn't hear her brother behind her, so she turned to look.. He was staring beyond the fence. "HEY, let's GO!" He snapped to and turned to run and follow.
Since that night, her brother's nose had been stuffed in books and the computer, searching for what could be the explanation for what he saw and heard. Though his father and the other cops told the kids it had been a bear mauling, after research Loki was convinced it was a Lychan. Or something of that nature. It became his obsession. Their parents looked on this as a passing interest and hoped he would bud into a growing athlete like their daughter... they were disappointed. In high school, the two seemed as distant as they could be to the outside world, while still very close in private. Lex was interested in school, boys, sports, getting into a good school. Her brother was skipping school, drinking, hanging out with the bad boys. She first started to notice a change when they were 17. He'd found a new group of friends, people Lexi didn't know and had never even heard of. They called themselves a "Pack", in stupid imitation of werewolves of whatever they were trying to be. He started getting into trouble and not coming home. He confided in her that he'd found the real thing and there was such a thing as a "pet". He wanted to do this, in hopes of finding out more of these amazing creatures. She begged him not to do it, told him that being a slave wasn't worth finding out about anything. And what would he do with the knowledge? But she knew... he wanted what they had. He wanted the power his small frame and never been able to give him. Finally he left home, but always -always- wrote once a week to his sister. He told her everything. It was like his diary, these letters to his other half. They both missed each other terribly. Then the letters started getting shorter and shorter. Then once every other week instead of once a week. He spoke of being in trouble, of maybe digging into things too much. The last letter read, "Find Dr. Skean. Need Help, sister."
As much as she loved school and her social standing, she loved her brother more. After graduation, she vowed to herself that she would search out this Dr. Skean... though her brother hadn't even told her what she was to do when she found this Dr. One thing at a time, though. She took her family debit card, her car, her dog.. and left. This is where she is now. On her way to the last place her brother sent a letter from. What she hoped to find, she had no idea. Her brother, in the best outcome. Maybe she could get him out of this dark business and bring him home.

They often spoke of becoming twin PI's when they were younger. She'd always felt they'd have made a good team. She was upfront and brash, he was sneaky and quick. She'd be the flash while he controlled things behind the scenes. She tends to notice everything. She's very sociable, outgoing, says whatever is on her mind and doesn't usually hold back. Sample RP intro;
She'd been driving for ten hours straight. It was about time for a rest. She decided the first hotel she came to she'd stop and stay the night, maybe do a little research on her computer. A few miles later she saw a little sign for a cute little bed and breakfast. It seemed as good a choice as any, to her. She pulled her mustang into the driveway and turned her car off. Dizzle jumped to the front from the back seat, his tail wagging in his anticipation of running free. She grabbed her bag and her laptop, let the dog run around a little, and then headed inside. Hopefully they accepted dogs. On entering the room, her eyes did a quick scan, tucking every single piece of information away into the file cabinet that was her brain. She noticed the rubber plant in the corner of the room, the warm homey farm decorations, the bell on the front desk. She noticed the sign that said "Children left unattended will be sold to the circus" and had to smile. She took in the tiny crack in the front window, the peeling paint on the walls, the stain on the rug partly hidden by an area rug. Little, useless details but she noticed everything. She set her travel bag down and rang the bell. Dizzle sat at her side, obedient and seemingly as alert as she was. She often felt, though knew it was ridiculous, that her dog understood her and was just as much of a detective as she was. She'd trained him to smell something then find it for her. It came in handy sometimes. After a minute, an elderly lady came into the room and behind the desk. She assured Lex that dogs were indeed welcome and she had a beautiful room with a dog bed already included. She happily accepted, took the key and after quick directions to the room, told the woman she could find her own way. Once in her room, she set her things on the bed and went from window to window to door, checking the locks. Another thing her father had taught her as a part of his life-long lessons. She took a quick shower then settled in for a long night of research with maybe a few hours of sleep.
