“Hm?” Cass spared him a two second glance before going back to rifling through the cabinets for the phone book.

Xander sighed again and came up behind her, wrapping her arms around her stomach and hugging her gently, silent.

Cass leaned back against him, reaching over her shoulder to run her fingers through his hair, likewise silent.

“I love you too.” Cass let her arms drop, lightly pulling away from him.

Cass bit her lip, going back to looking for the phone book like she hadn’t been interrupted.

Bri slid off the couch, knowing she wouldn't be getting juice anytime soon. She shrugged and sat down on the floor, sliding her short arm under the couch in search of one of her stuffed animals she slid down there incase of emergency boredum.
Her hand touched something smooth, different from the carpeted floor. Bri frowned and pulled out an old, dusty photograph. She studied it carefully. she recognized her mommy and daddy, but they didn't look as old. Kait's daddy was in there too, along with someone she didn't know. The four of them were all crowded together in front of a car. Her mommy and daddy were on opposite ends ad her daddy was holding onto the girl she didn't know. Her mother was with Kait's dad, Uncle Jack.
Bri stared at the girl. Her hair was the same color as Bri's but her eyes were prettier. Kind of brown and green at the same time. "Kaity!" She called to her older sister, hoping to be heard.

"Yeah, Munchkin?" Kait stuck her head in the door, looking around until her eyes fell on Bri.

"Who's this?" She held up the photo to show to Kait. She pointed to the girl with Xander.

Kait took up the picture, squinting at it. The girl looked familiar, so much so that Kait was sure she’d seen her in other pictures. That was it. She was in that picture on her mother’s dresser.
“One of mom and Xand’s friends.” Kait shrugged, glancing at the photo one more time before handing it back. “Never met her though. You should probably give that back to mom.”

Cass sighed, turning around. “What, Xander?E "Nothing." Xander shook his head, grinning slighly. "I just like looking at you, y'know."

“You know I don’t like that musical crap.” Cass’ scowl softened for an instant. “And you should know why.”

"I know that, but Cass..." Xander sighed. "She's little. And she likes it. I don't think she should have to walk around on eggshells, worrying about us all the time."

“She doesn’t,” Cass looked wounded. “I watched it with her three times today, Xander. Three. She needs to be outside and, frankly, I need a break.”
