“Good boy.” Jack grinned. “Now I’m going to ask you a very important question. Does Mommy still look crazy or do you think we can let her go?”

Eva sighed and rolled her eyes, sitting still while her son carefully inspected her.
Ian finally shook his head. "Still crazy, Daddy."

“What?” Jack looked hurt. “At least I’m getting you a second opinion.”
Will sat on his bed, flipping through a magazine and listening to the radio.

"'What if the neighbors ask about the screaming?' Jack...." eva rubbed her forehead, looking tired
"Will..." Ian came into the doorway, knocking even though the door was open. "Daddy wants you."

“What for?” Will asked cautiously.

"If Mom still looks crazy." Ian fixed his bvrother with an innocent eyes look. "I told 'im she does."

Will shook his head, laughing as he pushed himself off of the bed. “Lead the way.”
