(Yes...horrible title. ^^; Anyone got a better one?)
There wasn't a place on her that didn't hurt. Her head throbbed, her right ankle felt like it was sprained and her couldn't even feel her left arm. Rose didn't know how long she'd been dragging herself through the park when she finally made it to the back porch of the small cottage-like home she and her father had once shared.
Warm trickles of fresh blood was running down her face, going straight through her eye, and it was all but gushing from a wound in her side. She was almost certain it was a bullet wound, but hadn't bothered to check yet. But that wasn't the worst part nor was being half-blind.
The worst part was she had no idea what had happened to her.
Rose made a weak grab for the doorknob and managed to twist it enough to open it, collapsing through the open doorway into a sprawled heap. Her black-and-tan dochond, Meester Kiibles, rushed to her, licking her face worridly and whimpering. She smiled weakly. "Hey, baby. Momma's back..." She grabbed at the end table that held the black cordless phone, peacefully recharging.
The table wabbled and collapsed next to her, just missing her weiner dog. Kibbles yipped and growled at the table. Rose picked up the deserted phone and hit the 'on' button before dialing the only number she could think of at the moment, taking meager notice of the blood on the buttons. She listed to the dialtone for a few moments before a familiar voice picked up.
"Cain?" Her voice came out as a weak croak.

Music had been blaring as the phone rang, barely audible over the loud boom of the bass line of whatever song that 99.7 W.O.L.R “the Creek” had been playing. Cain shuffled from in front of the computer screen as the loud ringing cut threw his music.
“Uuuh, y’ello.” He piped picking up, just as he grabbed his remote of the bed side table, jumping in the air to hit mute and landing long ways on the bed with little more then a squeak.
His name was called faintly threw the phone. “Yeah, it’s me. Who is this?” No answer. It was probably just someone playing a joke on him, get him back for something he’d done a few weeks back, hoping they could pull one over on him, now that he might not remember anyone in particular.
“Hey, hello?” He asked again. Just to be sure there wasn’t really someone there. Still no answer. He rolled over to check the Caller I.D. He had expected to see ‘blocked caller’ but instead saw Rose’s name and number flashing.
“Rose are you okay?” He didn’t wait for an answer before hanging up the phone and rushing out the door. It’d be at least fifteen minutes before he got there, so Cain dialed Eva. Hoping someone would get there before something bad happened. Maybe something bad had already happened. Cain had one of those feelings.
“C’mon damn it, Eva, pick up the damn phone!” He was quickly loosing his temper with his cell phone and the slow driver in front of him. As soon as Eva’s voice registered in Cain’s mind, he spoke. “Listen, Eva, its Cain. Got a call from Rose—about I dunno, five minutes ago. Listen, she didn’t sound good, and then she wasn’t responding at all. I’m stuck in traffic; can you swing by there and check on her? Just ‘til I get there. It’ll be like ten minutes max.”
Ooc; Gosh, I'm like stuck on long posts today....

"Cain you sure?" Eva asked worriedly. "I went by there just about 15 minutes ago to ask for the math homework, and no one was home." Eva sighed. "You sure it wasn't someone playing a trick on you or something?" While she said this, she was already on her way out the door, locking it behind her, to run to Rose's house, as it was just down the street

There was a long trail of fresh blood running from the park to Rose's back porch. The backdoor was still wide open.
The second Eva was in range, Meester Kibbles came running out to her, whimpering and whining worridly.

“No, she was really on the phone. And no, it wasn’t someone playing a freakin’ trick. Because if it was….” For a few moments all that could be heard was Cain’s car horn. “If this f*ing dumb ass truck in front of me would go the hell on!” He yelled, not even bothering to be nice with his language. “Well, Eva, I’ll be there a few. Bye. Damn i-” And the phone went dead.

Eva hung up, then noticed the blood and the dog, swearing very creatively under her breath. She started to run arcross the street....
And almost got hit by a car. "f**k**g ingrates!" she waited for a few cars to go by, then spinted across the street. She hopped over the gate that had slammed behind Rose, and ran into her friends overgrown plantlife, to the back porch. "Rosie!"

Rose was still sprawled on the floor, her blood soaking through the beige carpeting. The phone was still on beside her and the dialtone ringing loudly. Rose lifted her head groggily and managed a small smile. "hey...Eva..."
Kibbles raced inside around Eva and licked and nudged Rose's hand anxiously whimpering softly.

Eva ran over and hung the phone up before sitting down next to her friend. "Rosie, what..... was it burglars? crazy fanboys? rabid squirrels?" she knew she shouldn't joke around, but she didn't know what else to say.

Rose gave what might have been a laugh but ended up in a coughing fit. "Ugh....I...don't remember..." She muttered, her eyes starting to feel heavy. "I was...going for a walk in the park 'n' then...I was crawling back here, bleeding..."

"I should.... call an ambulance...." Eva looked at all the blood, starting to feel faint, and hoping Cain got there soon

"That'd...probably be smart..." Rose murmered before letting her head slump back onto the bloodied carpet, her eyes closing. Her breathing slowed considerably until it was almost nonexistant. Her body shivered faintly from all the blood she'd lost.

Eva pulled out her cell phone, dialing 911. "Hello?! I need an ambulance! My friend is hurt!
1113 Perdita street! She's on the back porch, and I don't want to move her!
Please hurry!" She hung up and punched in Cain's number

“What?!?” Cain growled, picking up the phone. Oh it was Eva. “Is Rose okay? I’m just around the corner. Never mind, I’m pulling in.” He didn’t wait for an answer, just clipped the phone shut and started toward the front door.
“Hey!” He yelled, making his way threw the house, before finding the two girls on back porch.
“Oh god, that’s a lotta blood,” Cain peeped, his mouth dropping open. “Umm, Eva, you called 911, right?”
He was staring right at Rose, wanting to help, but really unable to get himself moving.
“Damn,” he muttered, snapping back into reality. “Eva, go get something…to clean…blood up.” He didn’t even know what to clean up first…
Sliding down in the floor beside Rose, Cain gently touched her face. He knew she couldn’t go to sleep; that much blood lose would be more then enough to put her in shock. If she went to sleep, she might never wake up again.
“Rose, hey, can you hear me?” He asked, pulling her up into his lap a little, even though it was against his better judgment. “It’s Cain, we’re going to get some help, okay. Just stay a wake, okay honey.”

Rose opened her eyes half-way, her blue eyes dull and unfocused. "H..ey..." Her voice was weak as ever and pupling bruises were begining to become visable on her throat, as if someone had tried to strangle her.
A faint smile played across her lips. Her teeth were red and a little blood was dribbling from the corner of her mouth. "Hurray...for Caller ID, huh...?" She grimced suddenly, a sharp pain from the wound in her side suddenly feeling like she'd been stabbed. She looked up at Cain again, whimpering a little, looking weak and helpless.

Eva came back with a towel. "You should.... try to stop the bleeding on her side. The ambulance should get here soon...." she tried not to look at Rose

“Yeah, I guess,” He replied, taking the towel and mopping up Rose’s side as best as he could without hurting her to bad.
Cain tried to smile for Rose’s sake.
“Yeah, caller I.D. is a blessing in disguise.” He watched as she cringed in pain again, it was enough to make him want to throw-up. “Shh, don’t talk, just keep your eyes open, okay. Eva’s gone to get something to clean up a little.” He could tell by looking at her that more then a little cleaning was going to have to be done. Taking the hem of his tee-shirt to clean the tiny stream of blood and spit off the side of her mouth, he forced himself to smile.
It was then that the paramedics showed up, carrying all their nifty little tools with them.
“See, Rose, help’s here.” Cain muttered, as they started asking him questions. The only answer he had for them was Rose’s basic information, and that they could contact him should anything else happen.
He watched silently as they packed Rose for the ride to the hospital.
“Son, you riding?” The medic woman asked just as they finished loading up.
“Uh, yeah.” He replied, yelling for Eva to follow in his car if she could. And for her to call everyone and let them know what was up. There wouldn’t be any band stuff for a few days. And for them to stop by if they wanted to.

Rose grimced slightly at the sight of the IV needle. She didn't like them anymore than Cain did, but didn't have the strength to argue with the parametics. She lazily turned her head to Cain. "Guess...no practice...huh?" She moaned queitly and winced as the pain in hr nakle came back full throttle.

"Always left behind...." Eva fumed and snatched her cell phone off the ground moodily. <better calm down before I call. Deep breath.> she ened up taking 5 before she had calmed down enough. She called Tala first, waiting through all the ringing before she got to voicemail.
"Hi Tala, bad news. Rose got hurt. Cain and her are in an ambulance to the hospital now. Call me on my cell if you need anything." she hung up and sighed again, trying chain, and again getting voicemail. She left pretty much the same message, sighing as she called Jake, expecting no answer there, either

Jack picked up the phone, yawning before putting it up to his ear.
“Hello?” He asked sleepily, fumbling to find a clock.
