Frank hummed a few notes, swinging his keys around his finger as he strolled down the halls of the hospital, looking for Xander. Oh, this was going to be fun. The most fun he’d been allowed to have since, well, since Carrie had gotten shot. Some people just didn’t have the decency to die when they’re supposed to. He rounded a corned and let himself into Carrie’s room without so much as a knock.
“Well, hello, ladies.” Frank grinned with an enthusiasm he felt for all the wrong reasons. “Listen, Carrie, you don’t mind if I borrow Xand for a few minutes, do you? I mean, you’ve had him to yourself for over two weeks now, not even letting him go home to his girlfriend.”
His grin widened as he turned to Xander without waiting for an answer. “Hey, brother, sorry to interrupt your little…side thing. I just wanted to say, you know, congratulations and all that. Not everyday you knock up your girlfriend, is it?”
“It’s kind of gross, though. I mean Cass was showing us, Jack an’ me that is, these pictures online of what the baby’s supposed to look like, being a week old and stuff.” Frank lied smoothly, biting the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing. Cass was more like a month along and neither of them had actually seen Jack since Carrie’s little accident. Still, this version was much more entertaining. “And it’s gross, but Jack, man, he looked really grossed out. Especially when Cass told him about her being preggo. He looked kinda mad and just stormed out, you know? It was weird that he was even there. Doesn’t his human keep him on a short leash?”
